SimplexHealth Total Hardness test strips are perfect to test the hardness of your water, to check the performance of your water softener, for service work, classroom demonstrations, or to give to customers instead of an expensive service call. This full range test kit lets you measure hardness on a very wide range of 0ppm to 500ppm (mg/l).(ppm = parts per million)
The definition of water hardness is most commonly expressed as milligrams of calcium carbonate equivalent per litre*:
- Soft: calcium carbonate at concentrations below 60mg/l (<60ppm)
- Moderately hard: water contains calcium carbonate at concentrations between 60 and 120mg (60 to 120ppm)
- Hard: above 120 and 180mg (120 to 180ppm)
- Very hard water contains more than 180mg (>180ppm)

With total hardness water quality test strips you are in control and can find out exactly where your calcium level is before it becomes a problem.Understanding your Results:
- Hardness greater than 80ppm: Detergents with softening agents are not completely effective in cleaning
- Hardness greater than 120ppm: Some scaling will occur in pipes and appliances
- Hardness greater than 250ppm: Dishwasher impossible to use without producing film on dishes

How to Use :1) Dip the Stick into water the water sample for 3 seconds without motion2) Remove and shake the strip once, briskly, to remove excess water.3) Immediately match colour of strip to the colour chart on the container.
