Description
Considered one of the “Troublesome Trio” (along with Manganese and Hydrogen Sulfide) because of the complexity in removing this excess contaminant. More common in private wells than municipal water supplies. Iron can be present in four different forms in water.Effects of iron in water:
- Excessive iron will create a rusty color with reddish or orange staining of plumbing fixtures.
- A metallic taste may also be present with excess iron.
- If iron bacteria is present, gelatinous sludge may be present on plumbing fixtures or cause pipe encrustation.
These water test kits are ideal to measure iron Fe+2 at a low range:
- Simple Dip-Wait-Read Testing Method
- Reliable results without interference from other heavy metals that may be present
- Test strips are stored in a plastic container to protect them
- Ideal for quick and reliable testing of water
- A mechanical reader is NOT required
- Accurate results are achieved approx. 1 minute
- This product is safe and easy to use since there are no chemicals to mix, an MSDS is not required
Please note, these iron Fe+2 strips (which are for soluble iron) can not be used to test for insoluble iron Fe+3 iron.The UK maximum contaminant level for Iron is: 200µg/l (0.2mg/l)
Suitable for: any fresh water, including water from tap, well, pond, stream, lake, river
Contains: 25 test strips
Sensitivity:
- Method A: 0, 0.3, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0, 10, 20, 50 ppm (mg/l);
